Emily Kay is a web developer and designer, she has been researching, designing, and coding webpages since the early 1990s. She specializes in web and mobile web site and application development focusing on responsive user interface design, user experience, and usable presentation. She has also worked as a traditional graphic designer, a multimedia specialist and a 3D animator, but her true passion lies with the web.
Emily's skill set includes various technologies and tools including HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3/SASS/LESS, JavaScript, jQuery/jQuery UI/jQuery Mobile, Ajax, PHP, MySQL, the Adobe Suite of applications and more. She has worked with graphics and design throughout her career and firmly believes that good visuals help deliver a message in a more powerful way and aids in retaining engagement and interest.
She has been teaching at the community college level for over 20 years at several community colleges in San Diego. Aside from her teaching duties she is also a web designer/developer and has worked at several design firms in San Diego. In addition, she has developed numerous courses for Linkedin Learning (formally Lynda.com) and produced 100’s of videos on youtube. In her free time Emily is ocean obsessed and spends hours swimming, free diving and taking underwater photos and enjoys spending time with her family and dog.
