Cathy Nguyen (she/her/hers) is a graphic designer, educator, and visual artist. She collaborates with clients in education and the arts + culture sector to bring design visions to life across print and digital platforms. Selected clients include: University of San Diego; San Diego State University; Institute of Contemporary Art, San Diego (formerly Lux Art Institute); Balboa Park; The Old Globe theatre; the San Diego Asian Film Festival; and various institutions of higher education in the U.S.
Curious about the palpable tensions of communication, Cathy's personal work and research explore visual poetics that intersect creative writing, typographic experiments, and intermedia print processes.
Cathy holds a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from San Diego State University and completed her undergraduate studies in Visual Communications from University of San Diego. Cathy works as a full-time designer and is passionate about mentoring aspiring designers as an educator in the San Diego community.
