Typography is one of the most vital components of all visual communication. This course focuses on developing a solid understanding and use of type and letterforms within a composition, whether in print, video or multimedia, to improve the quality of information and communication. You will learn the essential typographic principles to increase the meaning and impact of your message through design and composition using type/image, type/color, and semantic/syntactic relationships.
MAT 155 is an emphasis course and is part of the Graphic Design sequence. While it is acceptable to take MAT 185 : Graphic Design 3 before taking MAT 155, it is highly recomended that MAT 135 : Graphic Design 1 be completed as the first course in the sequence.
