Web Development and Design is one of the most dynamic and challenging careers available to anyone interested in the intersection of art, communication, and technology. Opportunities for web designers and developers exist in a wide variety of settings including design firms, advertising agencies, marketing departments, educational and government agencies, and as independent freelancers. The Web Development and Design Certificate is designed to train students in the skills necessary to gain employment in the exciting field of web and interactive media content design, development and delivery. Students gain skills in all phases of website design, including site planning and information architecture, web page and graphic design, web programming and production, animation and motion graphics, audio and video integration, designing for interactivity, and much more. Students who complete this certificate will understand the most important principles and practices of web design and development, learn current computer software applications, as well as gain a solid foundation in project planning, management, communication and teamwork.
