Margherita Pizza

Im a big pizza fan, and no pizza is as unique as a classic margherita pizza.

Everything that you would need is 1lb of pizza dough that is at room temperature, half a cup of San Marzano tamato sauce, 8oz of fresh mozzarella cheese, its important to make sure you get the slice cheese, not shredded, some fresh basel leaves, extra virgin olive oil, and some salt.

Nothing compares to a delicous traditional Margherita. Red to represent tomatoes, white mozzarella, and green basil, all the colors that are on the Italian flag where this food is originally from. it is said to have been forst made in 1889 to honor the Queen od Italy. The dish interest me becasue it is simple and easy to make.

Serving suggestions:

After the pizza is finished baking drizzle a bit of premium extra virgin olive oil as well as a small amount of basil leaves to retain their intense flavor of you want it to really stand out. Serve the pizza with a crisp salad of arugula mixed in a lemon vinigrette for unique flavor. It adds a spicy acidity that balances the richness of the fresh mozzarella. Avoid over topping the pizza before baking, instead add a sprinkle of flaky sea salt right before slicing the pizza.
